Qubole has added support for MySQL 8.x for AL1 and AL2 clusters on AWS. Customers can now migrate their custom metastore DB from MySQL 5.x to MySQL 8.x. for AL1 and AL2 clusters.

Customers will need to restart their clusters after performing their custom metastore upgrade.
