”Qubole has added support for MySQL 8.x for AL1 clusters on AWS. Customers can now migrate their custom metastore DB from MySQL 5.x to MySQL 8.x. for AL1 clusters.

Additionally, Qubole has added support for Qubole-provided default metastore for AL2 clusters. This makes it easy to quick-start on Qubole with latest AWS AMIs”
